Forensic slip resistance testing for personal injury litigation
Service detail

When to instruct us

We are instructed in UK slip-and-fall personal injury claims from both sides — for defendants (businesses/insurers defending a claim) and for claimants (solicitors investigating liability). Typical instructions come shortly after an incident, during the pre-action protocol stage, or at any point up to a court hearing.

What we do

We attend the incident site and carry out UKAS-accredited BS 7976 / BS EN 16165 pendulum testing, typically replicating the conditions reported at the time of the incident — including weather, contamination type, and footwear where relevant. The resulting PTV data is analysed against HSE/UKSRG thresholds, and combined with forensic consideration of the specific incident circumstances.

Report format

Expert witness reports are written to CPR Part 35 standards — the UK civil procedure rules for expert evidence. They contain the expert’s duties, factual findings, methodology, conclusions, and a statement of truth. Reports are suitable for direct disclosure in County Court, High Court, or pre-action correspondence.

Attendance at court

If required, we attend court to give oral evidence. This is rare — the vast majority of cases settle once our report is disclosed — but we are experienced in cross-examination where it does occur.

Timing and confidentiality

Urgent instructions can be accommodated — site attendance within 48–72 hours is often possible. All work is carried out under formal confidentiality, and we do not discuss any instruction publicly. We can work through a solicitor, directly with a business defending a claim, or with a loss adjuster.

Frequently asked

Questions about expert witness slip resistance testing

Are your reports CPR Part 35 compliant?

Yes. Our expert witness reports are written to CPR Part 35 standards — the UK civil procedure rules for expert evidence. They include the expert's duties, methodology, conclusions, and statement of truth.

Can you attend court to give evidence?

Yes. Attendance at County Court, High Court, or pre-action hearings is available. In practice, the majority of cases settle once our report is disclosed.

Do you work for claimants as well as defendants?

Yes. We work on both sides of slip and fall litigation — instructed by defendant businesses/insurers and by claimant solicitors. Our reports are independent regardless of instruction.

How quickly can you attend for post-incident testing?

Urgent attendance is often possible within 48–72 hours. Earlier attendance produces stronger forensic evidence because site conditions are closer to the incident.
