Testing The Floors You Walk On.

Slip-Tests is the England-facing service of Surface Performance Ltd — a UKAS ISO 17025 accredited slip resistance testing laboratory (Schedule No. 7933) founded in 2011. We test, we measure, we report. We don’t sell anti-slip treatments. That is the whole point of UKAS accreditation.

Who we are

One Clear Standard.

Surface Performance was founded in 2011 by Callum Reid, an industry specialist with over fifteen years of experience in UKAS-accredited material testing and slip resistance assessment. Today, we operate one of the few UKAS ISO 17025 accredited slip resistance testing laboratories in the UK, recognised under Schedule No. 7933 — the internationally-recognised gold standard for technical competence and impartiality in testing.

Our work spans every commercial sector in England. We test for insurers, facilities management companies, architects, tile manufacturers, schools, hospitals, local authorities, solicitors, and property developers. What our clients share is a single requirement: they need slip resistance data that will hold up under scrutiny — in a courtroom, in front of the HSE, or in an insurance renewal meeting.

Accreditations

Tested Under Third-Party Audit.

Surface Performance holds UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation (Schedule No. 7933) for slip resistance testing to BS 7976 / BS EN 16165, alongside accreditations from FIFA, the Football Association, World Rugby, FIH (hockey), ITF (tennis), and RoSPA for our sports surface work. These accreditations are reviewed annually by independent UKAS assessors — we do not self-certify.

What makes us different

Three Non-Negotiables.

01. Genuine independence

We do not sell anti-slip treatments, flooring products, cleaning chemicals, or any other product whose sale could be influenced by our test results. UKAS accreditation requires this — it is not optional. It is what makes our reports credible evidence.

02. Documented traceability

Every test we perform is fully traceable: instrument calibration records, consumable batch numbers, engineer qualifications, environmental conditions. If the report ends up in an English court, every data point stands up under cross-examination.

03. Direct employees only

Every on-site attendance is carried out by a direct employee of Surface Performance — not a subcontractor or third-party technician. Our engineers hold current UKAS-approved training.
